The Bulgarian-American community in Chicago, residing in one of the world's largest multicultural environments, where over 40 languages are spoken among immigrants from more than 160 countries, has found that Sunday schools play a crucial role in preserving their national identity. 

Since its incorporation in 2010, the Little Bulgarian School in Chicago has been a pioneer in educating the young generation in the Bulgarian language, history, and traditions. Through innovative teaching methods, bilingual education, dynamic events, and active community engagement, the school aims to preserve Bulgarian traditions, strengthen Bulgarian identity among the diaspora, and foster strong connections between current and future generations.

At present, the Little Bulgarian School in Chicago operates two Sunday schools and one affiliate, all certified by the Ministry of Education and Science under Directive #90 for Bulgarian Sunday schools abroad. Students receive instruction equivalent to that in the Bulgarian school system, covering the Bulgarian language and history according to their respective grades.
